Metranet currently runs the largest live Wimax deployments in the UK, covering both Brighton and Reading. Wimax is designed for building city-wide high speed, multi-use, connectivity, and covering that last mile. It’s fast, reliable, and very flexible. Our current deployments are mainly used by local authorities for their private infrastructure.
We’re deploying in more cities in the UK, servicing the growing infrastructure needs and saving our clients money.
Wimax can be thought of as the big brother to Wifi. It goes further, faster, and can service more people.
We started as a Wifi Hotspot Provider
Back in 2003 I founded Loose Connection which provides free wifi hotspots sponsored by the venues they’re accessible in. We do the Wifi, they sell more coffee, continuing their core business. On average, venues make back their monthly sponsorship in the first 3 days of each month.
